How to Recover Permanently Deleted Files, Photos, and Media on Android Devices

Accidentally tapping 'Delete' on an essential photo album or work document can induce panic. Before despairing, follow these recovery methods to restore your lost media.

1. Inspect the System Recycle Bin First

Most modern Android gallery and file apps do not immediately delete files. They retain deleted items in a Trash or Recycle Bin folder for 30 to 60 days. Open your Gallery app, navigate to Settings, and tap 'Trash'.

2. Check Google Photos and Cloud Auto-Archives

Even if deleted from local storage, cloud backup versions may still reside in Google Photos Trash or OneDrive archives.

3. DiskDigger Photo Recovery

DiskDigger scans unallocated memory clusters to recover residual JPG and PNG image headers that haven't been overwritten yet.
